Greek Chicken Wraps Using Egg White Wraps

Ditch the lunch rut and make Greek chicken wraps using an egg white wrap. It is a delicious gluten free wrap that is also low carb, nut free, dairy free - made out of egg whites! It is then filled with homemade hummus, grilled chicken, spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese, and cucumbers, drizzled with a yogurt-based tzatziki sauce. Say goodbye to boring lunches!

Step-By-Step Instructions

Step 1: Take out one of the egg white wraps.

Step 2: Spread a thin layer of hummus over the wrap.

Step 3: Next, add a handful of baby spinach leaves down the middle of the wrap.

Step 4: Add sliced grilled chicken.

Step 5: Add a layer of sliced cucumbers.

Step 6: Sprinkle some crumbled feta cheese.

Step 7: Add a handful of halved cherry tomatoes. 

Step 8: Finally, drizzle some tzatziki sauce over it all.

Tips and Tricks

Store the chicken wrap ingredients in separate containers. Don’t build the wrap until right before eating. This will prevent any soggy wraps. 

Shortcut Tip: Use shredded rotisserie chicken as a quick shortcut.

Ingredient Swaps

  • Wrap Options: Use a flour tortilla, gluten free tortilla, spinach herb wrap, gluten free spinach wrap - all delicious options. 
  • Lettuce Options: Instead of spinach, use chopped romaine lettuce.
  • Tomatoes: Use grape tomatoes or chopped and seeded roma tomatoes. Two great options.

Storing

Store: Keep individual wrap ingredients in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator.

Meal Prep: Use a meal prep container and place enough wrap ingredients for one wrap for the week. Then enjoy a Greek wrap for lunch and skip the fast food!

FAQs

Where can I find egg white wraps?

You can go to their website to pull up a map of your area. I found them at two local grocery stores, Aldi and Target. Walmart did not keep them on shelves, but I could ship them to my home. 

Do I need to keep my wraps refrigerated?

Keep your egg white wraps at their freshest in the refrigerator and use them within seven days from opening.

How much protein and carbs does an egg white wrap have?

Five grams of protein. Less than one gram of carbs. They also have zero grams of sugar and only have 35 calories in each wrap!

Meal Planning

Serve these chicken wraps with a side of gluten free pasta salad, a handful of kettle chips and a side of fresh fruit. If you want to increase the protein, add a hard boiled egg.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg white wraps (Note 1)
  • 1 cup hummus (Note 2)
  • 5 ounces baby spinach
  • 3 cups sliced cooked chicken
  • 2 cups cucumbers sliced
  • 8 ounces feta cheese crumbled
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup tzatziki (Note 3)

Instructions

  • Spread a thin layer of hummus over the wrap.
  • Next, add a handful of spinach.
  • Add a single layer of sliced chicken down the middle of the wrap.
  • Layer sliced cucumbers on top of the chicken.
  • Sprinkle the wrap with crumbled feta cheese.
  • Add a handful of halved cherry tomatoes.
  • Drizzle tzatziki over it all, fold it in half and enjoy!

Note 1: Can substitute for other wrap options such as spinach herb, flour tortilla, or gluten free tortillas. 
Note 2: To keep this as low FODMAP wrap, make a batch of low FODMAP hummus.
Note 3: Make tzatziki sauce with lactose free yogurt to keep it low FODMAP.
