Preheat the grill to medium heat, 350-400 degrees F.
Remove the ham steaks from the package and trim the fat off the edges. This will help prevent grill flare ups.
In a small bowl mix the glaze ingredients: avocado oil, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, maple syrup and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until combined. Set aside.
Place two tablespoons of a high heat oil like vegetable oil or avocado oil on a paper towel. Using tongs, grease the grates with the oil soaked paper towels.
Next gently place the ham steak on the grill grates. Do not touch in order to get those grill marks. After 8-10 minutes, flip the ham steaks using tongs.
Using a basting brush, apply the glaze over the ham steak. Do not flip the ham steak once the glaze has been brushed on. After 10 minutes or until the ham steak is heated thoroughly, remove from the grill and serve immediately.
Notes
Note 1: Use a fully smoked ham steak for this recipe. See above for notes about ham steaks for more detailed information. Note 2: Use pure maple syrup for the best results. Imitation syrup, also known as pancake syrup, may contain high fructose corn syrup. Note 3: To keep this recipe gluten-free, use a Worcestershire sauce that is gluten-free, like Lea & Perrins.
