1-Step Gluten Free Bread Crumbs
One box of Rice Chex and a food processor are all you need to make homemade gluten free bread crumbs in one step. Use them as a coating, a binder, or a crunchy topping in any recipe that calls for bread crumbs. Budget-friendly, pantry-ready, and low FODMAP too.
Servings: 4 Cups
Ingredients
- 12 ounces Rice Squares Rice Chex Cereal (Note 1)
Instructions
- Empty half of the cereal into the food processor.
- Pulse until the cereal is crumbs. Be careful to not over pulse and end up with a texture similar to flour.
- Empty the food processor, and pulse the remaining box of cereal.
- Place the gluten free bread crumbs into an airtight container, label and store in a cool, dark place.
Notes
Note 1: Make sure the cereal you are using is gluten free. Sometimes there is malt barley listed in the ingredients, which is not gluten free.
Variation: To make Italian gluten free bread crumbs, add 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning to the bread crumbs and stir. Buy 2 storage containers to keep both types of gluten free bread crumbs in your pantry.
